NWF Fuels announced the acquisition of Sweet Fuels in December 2022 strengthening its position in the domestic heating oil market.
Founded by Adrian Sweet in 2005, Sweet Fuels has become a leading distributor of Oil within Oxfordshire with a strong reputation for service to Domestic customers. The acquisition expands NWF Fuels geographical reach, fitting nicely in between its existing depot network.
The Sweet Fuels business focuses mainly on the domestic heating oil market and also provides additional services with the sale and installation of heating oil tanks. The business retains an experienced team of 10 colleagues, and a fleet of 9 tankers. Adrian Sweet will be leaving the business but will remain in place for a short handover.
Acquisition is key to NWF Fuels future growth plans with the company expanding its depot network across the UK, building on the fact that they have successfully acquired and integrated 17 fuel companies into the business in the last 27 years – adding 5 businesses to their portfolio in 2019 alone.
Continued Growth

The acquisition of Sweet Fuels follows on from a string of highly successful depot acquisitions, including Consols Oils (Cornwall) and Darch Oil (Somerset).

Kevin Levy, Depot Manager of Darch Oil added; “At Darch Oil, we operate with the same team and in much the same way as we did previously, but with increased confidence and security in our ability to grow due to NWF’s support. Our customers found very quickly that they were still receiving the same fantastic service from the Darch Oil they knew so well, and they know they are not a number in a queue which is so important”.
